Adjuvant Receives GSA STARS II Award
San Antonio, TX, July 29, 2011 – Adjuvant is proud to announce that it was a recipient of the long awaited GSA STARS II contract award. Adjuvant will now be able to offer IT services to civilian and DoD agencies that only small businesses can provide. A benefit to this vehicle is the limited protestability which often plagues other contract vehicles.
The 8(a) STARS II GWAC is designed to promote small business utilization when purchasing information technology (IT) services and solutions for the federal government. The 8(a) STARS II contract vehicle is reserved for the federal government to work exclusively with qualified 8(a) small businesses as the prime contractors per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.8.
The 8(a) STARS II contract consists of two constellations and four functional areas within each constellation. Each constellation is based on industry accreditation. Adjuvant received an award in the following areas under Constellation I:
- Functional Area 1 – NAICS 541511 – Custom Computer Programming Services
- Functional Area 2 – NAICS 541512 – Computer Systems Design Services
- Functional Area 3 – NAICS 541513 – Computer Facilities Management Services
- Functional Area 4 – NAICS 541519 – Other Computer Related Services
Fred Casillas, President of Adjuvant, feels strongly that this award is key to the future growth of Adjuvant and the ability of the federal government to acquire services from small businesses easier. “At last our customers in the federal government have a vehicle that allows them to work directly with small businesses that have built up a solid repertoire of IT solutions and services. We have a history of providing exceptional IT services and solutions to our customers, and now we have a better way of supporting more customers.”
