Enterprise Architecture

Adjuvant has extensive experience with government contracts working in multiple development life cycles. For example, Over the course of a 7 year project, Adjuvant provided Agile Software Development and information technology support (database support, web services, help-desk etc.) to furnish Active, Guard, and Reserve field recruiters an automated tool to create prospective Air Force (AF) enlistee application files for all recruiting accessions in officer, enlisted, and health professions. This project required Adjuvant to lead the software and web development work with the customer and vendors to not only plan and design modifications to the current system but also additional modules and web solutions to allow for new requirements where Adjuvant took the role of functional leads to ensure seamless transition among hardware, software, and communication technologies.

The matrix

Overseeing all Enterprise Architecture and Agile Software Development is Adjuvant’s Chief Solutions Architect, Mr. Steven Lewis. Mr. Lewis is a certified SCRUM Master as well as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Mr. Lewis, as the Adjuvant Corporate Technical Liaison provides direction to our onsite development teams. Mr. Lewis has developed Enterprise Level Architecture and Web Solutions projects utilizing the Agile methodology including:

  • Project: United States Air Force Electronic Board Operations Support System (eBOSS Refresh). The Project technologies included NodeJS, SpringBoot, Java, Oracle 11g, MyBatis, PL/SQL, HTML5 and React-Redux. Technical lead on a multi-million dollar project to do a full stack upgrade from Silverlight and C# to latest web technologies in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environment. Lead Architect for creating an AWS virtual private cloud (VPC) for new eBOSS application. The VPC was scripted using CloudFormation and other native AWS services for fault tolerance, routing and auto-scaling. Scripts as included leveraging Beanstalk for provisioning and Git hub repository that integrated with Jenkins server. As part of the refresh, the Java tier was re-written from SOAP to REST. Provided DoDAF 2.0 compliant artifacts on existing system, interface partners and target AWS environment.
  • Project: United States Air Force Legacy Pay/HR Study. The Project technologies included Java, Oracle 11g Database, and VB.NET, PL/SQL, and C #.NET. Technical lead on a six million dollar project, a technical study and analysis on 50 United States Air Force HR systems. Team Lead of 10 developers, from multiple sub contracts, in agile development of technical fit/gap analysis data. Interfaced with client on all technical issues related to the project. Develop solution architecture models and viewpoints (operational, system)
  • Project: United States Air Force Electronic Board Operations Support System (eBOSS). The Project technologies include Java, Oracle 11g Database, JDBC, PL/SQL, Silverlight and C#.NET. Technical lead on a seven million dollar project eBOSS, a multi-platform web based United States Air Force promotions system. Team Lead of 12 developers, from multiple sub contracts, in agile development of a state of the art web based application. Interfaced with client on all technical issues related to the project. Develop solution architecture models and viewpoints (operational, system, services, capabilities, data and information) for existing and proposed information systems. Under a very tight deadline, developed Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) documentation for Air Force information systems, using IBM Rational System Architect software. The application was compliant with industry standards in Service-oriented architecture. This provided extensive flexibility and scalability for quick implementation of application enhancements. Coded both C#.NET and Java web services as the main engine within the application. Designed an enterprise solution to transfer and convert three file types in support of rich graphical user interface. Managed and coded Java application to call Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to convert secured XFA-PDFs to PNGs. eBOSS was awarded 2012 Air Force Personnel Center application of the year.
  • Project: Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Management Systems. The Project technologies include Java, Oracle Application Framework (OAF), JavaScript, JDBC, SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle 10g databases. Senior developer on NSPS trusted agent application, which enables DoD personnel supervisors to delegate online evaluation tasks in a secure manner. Involved in development of web pages using OAF. Mentor, coordinator and leadership roles in creation and execution of QA and testing processes, test strategies and plans, bug documentation and regression, and bug tracking system development.
